Delete your account
You can delete your Secret Santa account at any time — on whoismysanta.com or in the Secret Santa app for Android. It’s free and takes a couple of minutes.
How to delete your account
- Log in on the website or in the app — with the magic link from your email.
- Open Settings and tap “Delete account”.
- Check what gets deleted and tap “Send the email”.
- Open the “Confirm deleting your account” email, tap “Go to account deletion”, then “Delete account”. The link in the email lasts 24 hours.
Log in and delete your account
The confirmation comes by email, so no one but you can delete your account. If you can’t log in, use the “Contact us” form in the app and we’ll help.
What gets deleted right away
- Your account: email address, notification settings, and Telegram connection.
- Your part in games: your game name, card (hints for your Santa, delivery address and phone), wishlist, and anonymous chats with your Santa and your giftee.
- Games you organize — entirely and for every player, with all cards, wishlists, and chats. The players get a notification.
- Notifications, messages to support, game feedback, and the records of your actions in our support log.
What happens in other people’s games
- Before the draw, you simply leave the game.
- After the draw, the Santa chain closes up again: your Santa gets your giftee and an email about it. If only one player is left, the draw is cancelled.
- Your messages in group chats stay, but they’re signed “Deleted account” instead of your name.
What we keep after deletion
- If you bought a paid game level: the payment record — amount, date, order number, receipt link, and the payer’s email. We keep it for 5 years, as tax law requires. Our payment provider keeps its own copies under its rules.
- System lines in group chats of other people’s games — for example, “Luna joined the game”: they keep your game name.
- Server logs (IP address, request times). They’re needed for security, kept for a limited time, and deleted automatically.
This can’t be undone
Deletion is permanent: your account, games, and wishlists can’t be restored. To play again, log in with the same email — you’ll get a new, empty account.
